Free Tools & Templates for Plumbers

Everything a plumber needs to price a job, get paid, and win more work — free.

Pipe-volume math, invoices, estimates, contracts, and the pricing calculators — all in one place, built specifically for plumbing contractors.

Price the job

Get the number right before you send it.

A water-heater swap and a re-pipe don’t price the same way. Start with the pipe-volume calc, build the estimate off it, and check your markup before it goes out.

Calculator

Pipe Volume Calculator

Figure water volume and fill time by pipe diameter and length — for flushes, re-pipes, and system sizing.

Estimate

Plumbing Estimate Template

Line-item estimate built around a real water-heater replacement job, ready to send.

Calculator

Markup vs. Margin Calculator

Know the difference before you quote — the two numbers are never the same.

Plumbing Code Quick-Reference

Plain-English, searchable index of 221 UPC & IPC rules — DWV, venting, traps, water supply & more.

Most plumbers undercharge for one of two reasons: they price off gut feel instead of the actual pipe run, or they forget to build overhead and their own labor burden into the number. Fix both and the same jobs get more profitable without raising a single rate.

Start here: run the pipe volume calculator on anything involving a re-pipe or system fill — it’s the number that determines material cost and fill time, so it should be the number your estimate is built on.

Run the business

Know your numbers, not just your prices.

Labor burden and break-even — the two numbers that tell you if the business itself is actually profitable.

Are these tools actually free?

Yes — every calculator and template linked above is free to use. Some detailed job-tracking packs and bundles in the shop are paid; those are always labeled.

Does the pipe volume calculator account for different pipe materials?

It calculates based on internal diameter and length, which covers copper, PEX, and PVC runs. For exact fill volumes on unusual fittings, verify against manufacturer specs.
