Everything worth asking before you buy.
File formats, refunds, commercial-use license, custom work, AI disclosure, the legal-template caveats — all of it, plainly answered. If yours isn’t here, the shop email is at the bottom.
Downloads & formats
What file formats do I get?
Depends on the template. Spreadsheets ship as Excel (.xlsx) + Google Sheets link. Contracts and forms ship as Word (.docx) + Google Docs link + fillable PDF. Canva kits ship as a Canva template share-link — you open it in your Canva account and duplicate. Every product listing has the exact format(s) called out.
Do I need Excel? Or will Google Sheets work?
Both work for every spreadsheet template in the catalog. The math is built in standard Excel / Google Sheets functions — no exotic array formulas that break in older versions. If you only use Google Sheets, you get the same template as the Excel buyer, just opened in Sheets.
Do I need Canva Pro?
For most kits, a free Canva account is fine. The few that require Canva Pro (some premium fonts and some background images) are flagged on the listing description before you buy. No surprises.
How do downloads work after purchase?
On Etsy, downloads appear in You → Purchases & reviews immediately after payment. On Payhip, you get a download link emailed to you and access via your Payhip account. If a download link breaks or a file is corrupted, email the shop — a replacement goes out within one to two business days.
Refunds, licensing & commercial use
What’s the refund policy?
Digital products are generally non-refundable once delivered (industry standard for editable downloads), but the shop covers technical issues without question — corrupted files, broken download links, files that don’t match the listing description. If the file is genuinely not as advertised, email the shop and a refund goes out. The full window and terms are on the Terms of Service.
Can I use these templates commercially for my own jobs?
Yes. The license that comes with every purchase covers unlimited use in your own contracting business — estimates, proposals, invoices, marketing assets, all of it. What you cannot do: resell the template itself, share the file with other contractors, or post it on a template marketplace.
Can I edit the templates? Change the layout?
Yes — every template is fully editable. Add your logo, swap colors, restructure line items, rewrite copy. That’s the point of an editable template versus a locked PDF. The only constraint is the commercial license above.
Are the legal-form templates state-compliant?
Read this one carefully. Every legal-form template (lien waivers, subcontractor agreements, warranties) ships with a plain-English disclaimer on the first page that says: this is a starting point, not a finished jurisdiction-compliant instrument. Twelve states (AZ, CA, FL, GA, MA, MI, MS, MO, NV, TX, UT, WY) require specific statutory waiver language — in those states, use your state’s official form instead. The Lien Waiver Pack listing names this explicitly. For any legal-form template, a $200 attorney consultation finishes the job.
Custom work & the shop
Do you take custom-work requests?
Yes, on a limited basis. If you need a modified version of an existing template (different categories, additional rows, your branding pre-baked in) or a brand-new template for a trade not yet in the catalog, email the shop with what you need and the use case. Quote and turnaround go out within one to two business days. Custom-work pricing typically runs $75–$250 depending on scope.
How does the AI disclosure work?
Templates are built with the assistance of AI tools — then reviewed, edited, and QA’d by the operator (a human) before shipping. Every spreadsheet is tested against real numbers (three-room flooring job with waste factor, change order log with five entries, etc). If the math doesn’t reconcile, the file doesn’t ship. Every Etsy listing carries the AI-assistance disclosure language Etsy requires.
Who runs the shop?
One person — Demarcus Zwick, sole proprietor in Florida. The “we” in policies refers to the business; in practice, the email you send goes to the operator’s inbox. Replies typically go out within one to two business days. More background on the About page.
Still have a question?
Direct email goes to the operator. Replies usually within one to two business days. No support-ticket queue, no chatbot.
