Privacy Policy
What data the shop collects, why it collects it, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have about your own data. Last updated June 2, 2026.
Effective date: June 2, 2026
Trade Templates Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website tradetemplateco.com and sells digital construction and trade-business templates through this site, through our Etsy shop, and through our Payhip storefront. We take your privacy seriously, and this policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site or buy a template, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have about your own data.
This policy aims to comply with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) for California residents, and similar U.S. state privacy laws. We are not a law firm and this document is not a substitute for legal advice — if you have specific compliance questions about your own situation, please contact a qualified attorney.
Who we are
Trade Templates Co. is a one-person small business based in Florida, United States. The site is operated by D. Zwick. You can reach the operator at any time at zwickdemarcus@gmail.com.
What information we collect
We collect the smallest amount of personal information we need to run the shop and fulfill orders. In practice, that means:
Information you give us directly. When you place an order through our website, Etsy shop, or Payhip storefront, we receive the name and email address associated with the order, the billing details required by the payment processor, the items you bought, and any message you send us through Etsy Messages, Payhip support, or email. If you sign up for our newsletter, we receive the email address you provided and any list-segmenting preferences you selected.
Information collected automatically. When you visit tradetemplateco.com, our hosting provider and any analytics tooling we use may automatically log your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page that referred you, the pages you viewed on our site, and the date and time of each request. This is standard web-server log data and is used to monitor site health, prevent abuse, and understand which articles and product pages are useful to readers.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site functioning (for example, remembering that you accepted the cookie banner). Analytics cookies, if enabled, help us understand aggregate traffic patterns through tools such as Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly alternative; these do not personally identify you. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time — doing so will not prevent you from buying a template, although it may affect site preferences.
Information from third-party platforms. When you buy a template through Etsy or Payhip, those platforms share order data with us (your stated name, the email you used at checkout, the item purchased, the order ID, and shipping/billing region as required for tax). We do not see your full payment-card details — those stay with the payment processor.
How we use this information
We use your information only for the purposes you would reasonably expect from a small digital-template shop:
- Fulfilling orders. Delivering the file you bought, providing access links, confirming the purchase, and resolving any download or licensing problems.
- Customer service. Replying to questions about how to use a template, refund requests, customization requests, or licensing questions.
- Operations and bookkeeping. Reconciling sales totals, generating invoices, and tracking revenue and tax obligations for U.S. federal and state filings.
- Improving the shop. Understanding which templates and articles are useful so we can write better ones and retire ones that aren’t helping anyone.
- Newsletters (only if you opted in). Sending occasional emails about new template releases, restocks, sales, and free resources. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Legal compliance and fraud prevention. Responding to lawful requests from authorities, enforcing our Terms of Service, and protecting against fraudulent chargebacks or abuse.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects on you, and we do not use it to build personality profiles or behavioral-advertising audiences.
Who we share information with
We never sell your personal information to third parties. We share only what is necessary, and only with vendors who help us operate the shop. Those include:
- Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, and the payment processors built into Etsy and Payhip — to process the actual transaction. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
- E-commerce platforms — Etsy and Payhip — which host the listings you bought from and pass order details back to us.
- Email service provider — MailerLite — for sending newsletters and transactional emails, if you opted into our list.
- Web hosting and analytics — Hostinger (web hosting), Google Search Console (search performance data), and any analytics tool described in our cookie disclosure.
- Bookkeeping and tax tools — local spreadsheets and accounting software used only by the operator for tax filings.
We may also disclose information when legally required to do so (subpoena, court order, or to comply with applicable tax law), or when necessary to investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
How long we keep your data
We keep order records and the associated customer information for as long as required to support your purchase and for at least seven years after the order date, which matches the IRS recordkeeping period for U.S. small businesses. Newsletter subscribers’ email addresses are kept as long as you remain subscribed, plus a short suppression window after unsubscribe to make sure we don’t accidentally re-add you. Server logs are typically rotated within 90 days.
Your rights
You have meaningful control over your data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete — ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal obligations to retain it (for example, tax records).
- Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by replying to ask us to remove you.
- Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit certain processing.
- Portability — request your information in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights will not affect the price you pay or the service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, email zwickdemarcus@gmail.com with the request. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming the email associated with your order) before acting on the request.
Children’s privacy
Our shop is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
International transfers
Our hosting and several of our vendors are based in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on the standard contractual protections each vendor offers under applicable cross-border transfer mechanisms.
Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information: HTTPS for the entire site, password-protected admin access, reputable vendors with their own security programs, and the principle of least privilege when granting any third-party tool access to our shop data. No method of internet transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk and respond promptly to any incident.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date at the top and post the new version on this page. Material changes will also be announced via the newsletter to current subscribers.
